We got home from visiting family late Sunday night. It was wonderful to see my loved ones, especially since I hadn't seen most of them for over a year. While I we were traveling home, I kept thinking of the ocean. Most likely because I spent a lot of time watching Sea Patrol, an Australian television show about a fictional patrol boat of the Royal Australian Navy, with my father-in-lay. We stopped to visit my brother on our way back. As we were sitting outside visiting, the wind was gentling blowing the leaves in the trees. It was such a beautiful day. I was quietly contemplating that the only thing missing was the ocean, when my daughter leaned over and said that the moment reminded her of the beach. Then as we were driving out of the Blue Mountains into Umatilla Valley, my eyes were drawn to the beautiful horizon. It shimmed in the evening sunlight and looked like the ocean in the distance. Can you tell that I miss the ocean? We usually try to make one trip to the eastern coastline each year, but with everything going on, have decided to forgo our trip this year. How I miss the ocean.
During our vacation, I was able to visit with my sisters and nieces one evening. We spent the majority of the time talking about books and movies. There were so many book titles mentioned that my head was reeling with all the information. There are a ton of books that I haven't read, or read and forgotten about.
Here is a list of just six of the books we talked about
The False Prince
by Jennifer A. Nielson
by Julianne Donaldson
The Recipe Box
by Viola Shipman
Gallagher Girls Books (I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have to Kill You, book 1)
by Ally Carter
Anne of Green Gables
by L.M. Montgomery
It doesn't help that I have been so busy with school and work that it can be hard to find time to read for pleasure. My class for this semester is coming to a end, so I want to get as much reading in as I can for the summer. I am particularly interested in Gallagher Girls Books and have already started
Motivational Monday Pick
As I was trying to figure out a Motivational Monday Pick for this post, my mind kept coming back to a summer book bingo challenge my daughter got from one of her teachers. I thought it would be an enjoyable way to get a variety of reading in for the summer. That way I don't get sucked into just one genre. (Which I have a tendency of doing) It will be even funner if you join me in a Bingo Reading Challenge. Come have some fun with me and see who can get their Bingo first.
